Position description
Roles and responsibilities
- Bookkeeping activities (complete accounting cycle), including setting up and keeping financial records all through the preparation of preliminary financial statements
- Preparing monthly remittances (sales taxes, payroll, etc.)
- Preparing payroll, government remittances, and periodic reports (ROE, T4/RL-1, CNESST)
- Preparing year-end files for accountants
- Assisting with ad hoc analyses, inquiries, and research
Qualifications and skills
- College diploma or graduate from a technical accounting program (A bachelor’s degree would be an asset.)
- Minimum of 6 years of experience relevant to the position (Experience in an accounting firm would be an asset.)
- Fluent in English and French
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously with limited supervision
- Experience with preparing payroll files
- Work experience with software such as Simply Accounting and QuickBooks
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel)
- Integrity, sense of responsibility, and autonomy
